Honeymoonie.

...where else but of course to one of the best islands in the Philippines.

we really wanted to go to Caramoan Island in Camsur but sadly, due to time constraints, we just can't make it. i felt a bit sad after i learned there was no direct flight on our target date and no ferry trip to the island. we could have opted to go nevertheless but then again we only have 4 days for the honeymoon so travelling for long hours would be quite a bummer. we might end up just sleeping instead of doing some labing-labing hehe :)

so off we go to Boracay Island for some honeymoonie. what makes it more memorable is that, its Mario's first trip to the island so you can just imagine his excitement and plus we will be travelling for free. teehhheee! thank you dear ninang for your generousity. mwuah!

A Wedding is a Day - A Marriage is a Lifetime

proudly posting our CEE certificate :)

we've completed it last November 13-15, 2009 in a stay-in retreat. we've concluded that it was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding preparations. we could not just set aside something that is vital to our marriage, this aside from complying with one of the church's requirements.

the things we learned are really inspiring - sharing from couples of different religion, different background, different experiences and also from those who have went through the ups and downs of marriage. it was an eye-opener and at the same time an inspiration for us to work really hard to make our marriage successful and blissful.

i strongly recommend that every couple seriously discussing about getting married should attend a retreat like this. if you're from Singapore, you can either attend the CEE or MPC. if you're in the Philippines, you can attend the Discovery Weekend. if you're already married and you missed attending these retreats, it is never too late to catch up. you can always attend a marriage encounter seminar.

Note to Guests

swiped from Rhoel & Blanche's wedding blog.

i am reposting because she wrote the perfect words. however, i have edited some texts not applicable to our wedding :D

***

Everything you need to know that's not on the invite :)

GMRC for invitees

1) Do RSVP. We announced this wedding way in advance so our guests would have time to decide if they can come or not. All we ask is that you send us your response -- via text, email, phone call, website, Facebook, Multiply, whatever -- at least a month before the wedding so we have time to make a final guest count and coordinate with the venue for any adjustments.

2) Do NOT bring uninvited guests. We are very, very particular about the intimacy of our wedding. The affair is STRICTLY for our families and friends (and adults).

3) It is rude to ask the couple if you can bring someone whose name is not on the invite. Please do not put us (or our parents) in an awkward position (refer to number 2).

4) Be on time on the wedding day. We certainly hope you get a taste of the ceremony and not just the cake.

5) Yes, we would tremendously appreciate wedding gifts, thank you. However, if you are unable to bring anything but yourself, we would still be very thankful.

How to have fun

How to have fun

At the reception:

1) Be game. Be cool. Be a good sport. Try not to make the emcees beg for audience participation. If they ask you to sing, sing. If they ask you to try a fire dance, dance with fire. If they ask you to do cartwheels and land with a split on the sand, well... But at least sing, yeah? We promise not to tell anyone 8P

2) Have your cake and eat it, too. Food is something we paid good money for precisely because we want our guests to eat all they can. And guess what? We won't be the only ones cutting cake -- everyone gets a piece of the piece de resistance!

3) Down the cocktails early. We're not serving beer but we'll have juices and hot drinks. Help yourself.

What to wear - GIRLS

What to wear - GIRLS

I'd like to say a sexy two-piece bikini will do but the pastor might walk out on us and then it'll be your fault that the wedding didn't push through. So...

Just get into a cool summer dress that would be great for an evening affair. No ridiculous-looking satin formals. Puh-leez. Go for cotton or linen if you want to be comfortable. Go barefoot if it makes you happy -- nothing like feeling the sand on your feet (which is certainly better than sinking in wedges or stilettos). Just don't wear shorts or pambahay because well, everyone else will be gorgeous. Oh and do come in color (so you are not mistaken as part of the entourage)!

Need more ideas? Check out the vintage-with-a-modern-twist dresses on www.shopruche.com

What to wear - BOYS

What to wear - BOYS

Okay, boys, let's face it: You're not as fashion-conscious as women (generalizing here). So to make dressing up easier for you, let's first be clear about what NOT to wear. We say NO to denims, board shorts, collarless shirts and basically all clothes that have not been ironed. LOL.

Now what should you wear? Linen or organic shirts would be good, for starters, and perhaps khaki pants? Okay, fine, tropical/Hawaiian shirts would be acceptable. Just try not to look like Lito Atienza, ha? We want good memories. LOL.

Church Documents

after our hullabaloo experience with all our requirements for the church, finally all documents are complete. it was not a easy feat, i tell you! i realized that it is always good to give a one word name to your children :D not only it is easy for your children to write their names once they start going to school but it will also save you from all the hassles in your legal documents such as birth certificate, baptismal and confirmation certificates in case some changes might be required.

in our case, the simple name given to Mario was made complicated because of his "Jr." status. thankfully, the priest considered his documents - after countless visits to alegria and city health and a dose of his mother's pleadings. God bless him!

nowadays, requesting for new documents from our dear government agencies does not only require "powerful connections" but "gifts" as well. it's disheartening, i know. but what to do? getting "legally" married requires legal documents.

i am not complaining. how could i? my mother could not have processed our marriage license in a flash without her dear friends in our municipal hall. we were not even required to submit it personally or attend their seminar. i know of some couples who were having difficulties on this requirement. i have to say we didn't give them anything, it was pure friendship that made it all easy. *wink*

i am just happy we can now all breathe happily knowing all our church documents are complete.

To Cover or Not???

one of the easiest question i have to answer while deciding for my veil is either to cover my face or not? i have always envisioned myself walking down the aisle with less paraphernalia. aside from my clumsiness, i also have the tendency to easily get skin irritations, itchiness and claustrophobia. i am not in good terms with anything that blocks my vision more so something "katol". i am that sensitive! haha. as if!

so i informed our coordinator about this and another question came up...chapel train or cathedral train??? i have read articles regarding lengths of veils but have not exerted much effort to really think about it not until an hour ago when Tisha asked :D am i lousy or what? for most brides, it is the first thing to be discussed with the designer but i totally forgot about it. good thing, Tisha asked and showed some photos.

i love how this veil and chapel train perfectly matches our early morning ceremony, simple and relax. and yes, my veil will have some embroideries chuva.

p.s. this is Tisha and Teody during their wedding :)

this veil is beautiful too and the design is just perfect for her simple gown.

this is a cathedral train. i just think this is not for me. i might be all covered with cloth.

p.s. second and last photos are from Tisha. some weddings she coordinated previously.

The Search is Over...

...for the yellow beetle. wohhooo!!!

i am uberly grateful for my friend, Arman, who volunteered to ask his friend and officemate in Maribago, if we can rent or borrow her yellow beetle. at first, he thought, the kind of yellow might not be the perfect shade for our motiff but when i saw the photo, it was love at first sight. i had the "this is it" feeling again.

i was beaming with excitement while writing my message to the owner, Len-len. okay, i confessed, i inserted some "please-have-mercy-on-us" words just so she would grant our request... and it worked! =D not only that, she didn't charge us with any rental fee as long as we pay for the gas. thank you so much Len! as i told you, you are heaven-sent. i will make sure you're beetle will have its moment of stardom. hehe.

and so without further ado, the yellow beetle...and the owner =)

prettiness isn't it? both owner and car :)

p.s. sorry Len! i did ask permission to copy some photos but have not informed you i am posting it here. hope you'll forgive me =D thank you again!

92 days to go!!!

oh yes, it's less than 100 days and should i even panic? naaahhh, my brain has no room for any bridezilla thoughts more so panic-inducing images. =D

so yeah, we're back after our very short 4-day vacation/wedding preparation in Cebu. but those 4 days were really memorable and a lot of fun, even if we had marathon meetings with almost all our supplier friends =D

we've accomplished a lot inspite lack of sleep, scorching heat and sudden rain pour. the weather was really erratic but nonetheless, we are thankful as it cooperated during times when we needed it most.

here's a run down of our hectic 4 days:
  • Food tasting and 3rd ocular visit at Maribago Bluewaters. Yey, Food is soooo yummy!
  • Wedding rings booked, custom-made and ready this week. Yes, that fast. :D
  • Church flowers, bridal bouquet, entourage bouquets and reception venue decoration - all finalized!
  • Met up with our dear videographer and discussed our SDE.
  • First gown fitting. Yohoo!
  • Mario's suit measurement. (he is soo excited, mind you!)
  • Sent out "save the date" cards to our principal sponsors.
  • Processed our Marriage License (we were just on the initial stage. we were not able to finish due to unavailability of the signatories. so my mama will take it further)
  • Had our whole day/rain and shine engagement shoot with Charles Buenconsejo.
  • Finalized entourage and mothers' gowns with our designer friend and his personal seamstress. My future in-laws (MIL and SIL) and I were able to canvass the fabric as well.
  • We had our interview with the parish priest too. It went well but we had to submit some new documents because there were few changes. (our mothers will handle this)
  • We also had the chance to meet up with our prospect suppliers for our PS gifts but we haven't decided if we will order. Esep-esep pa :P
Indeed hectic! but it was all worth it because we went back to Singapore relieved that we've done so much.

Documents

all ready to go! weeeeeeee =)

as early as February, we already filed our Cenomar and NSO birth certificates :D i know it's way too early from our schedule but according to my dearest mother (who has some connections in the municipal), better early than late :D makes sense though! hehe. i will let her do her thing with this one. mother knows best anyway.

so come September, all we have to do is visit the municipal office and sign our marriage certificate. actually, even without submitting our complete papers, we can do this. hmmm we did this last December for our supposedly "civil marriage" haha.

good thing, my 'lil bro will have his first communion this november. at least we don't have to worry about the required certificate so he can be allowed as our ring bearer.

we are really grateful for mothers who keep legal documents neatly and who has a network of powerful/government employed/good friends :D

Random Thursday

today is our 46th monthsary and we've decided to spent it frugally =D. we tried out, for the first time, the newly opened mang kiko's lechon in lau pasat. we promised to spend only S$10.00 for our dinner but to our dismay, one set meal of liempo costs S$6.00 *sigh*. nevertheless, we gave away our S$12.00 since we're both hungry, too weak to find another place, and craving for that oily grilled porky huhu. we'll be poorer than ever in the next days to come. kaluoy tawn! hehe :p

next stop after dinner, is strolling around raffles (holding hands haha). we didn't plan to have dessert coz we're trying to be "frugal" but we passed by starbucks and i heard the cheesecake calling me as if begging to be devoured (ok, exagg! :p). seriously, i was also craving for something sweet (the moment i saw starbucks that is :D ) because the liempo and chicken was too oily for my taste (i'm trying to be semi-vegetarian btw hehe). so there, moyo gave up on me and i happily savoured the capuccino cheesecake. aylaavveeettt! such definition of frugality (and semi-veg). whateva basta busog! =D

***
my sister, lovely, happily offered to buy chocolates for our choco bar. yahhhoooo! i didn't force her, promise! i just shared to her this blogsite and let her do her thing, that is, to read hehe. she told me that she can buy ferrero, hershey kisses, patchi and will try to buy godiva as well (chocolates in dubai are pretty cheap). isn't she lovely? hehe. i can't even complain though it seems too much. i mean, thats her, being generous =D. but we'll see if i can control myself from eating those sweets before the BIG day or else, we'll just give away chocnuts haha :D thank you dear sister! but i still hope you'll be present huhu (she's still undecided to come home due to work chuva).

***
it's my youngest sister's, katrina, birthday today. she's now 24 and will be leaving for UK this october. how sad is that for the eldest sister-bride-to-be? she was informed just this morning and i don't know if that was good or bad news. surely, it was good news for everyone because finally, after the long wait, she'll be working professionally (paid higher) as a nurse. she is supposedly my maid of honor but now...sinaw *sigh*. seriously, i can't imagine how our wedding would turn out knowing my family is not complete. haller its my big day kaya!

anyhoo, i am really happy for her, from the bottom of my heart. i know she's also sad that she cannot attend especially that its her first time as maid of honor (you can just imagine how giddy she was when she forced me to let her be my MOH). but what to do? her future is at stake and i just can't take that away from her and from the whole family. i have to look at the positive side. at least, there's a lot to look forward to. Europe tour is one =D

i sooo love how the littlest of things make me giggle! yes, i'm shallow like that =)

i surely can't wait!

Confession of a Chocoholic

i am yvonne and i am a chocoholic! :D

that partly explains why i easily suffer from tonsillitis (aside from being stubborn :p)

i am just happy to share that my addiction will play a major role in our wedding reception. we will be having a chocolate/candy bar for our guests!!! HA! i can't wait!

the bar will look something like this...

yellow candies, yellow jellybeans, hershey's kisses and perhaps will add some locally made chocos like those from goya's or nestle's. (those egg-like chocos were my favorite when i was a kid :D )

these sweets will be kept in something like this...

oh yes, definitely our Love is Sweet! aaawww =)

but, but each guest will be initially given a pretty mini jar full of... whatelse??? still chocolates!!!

ain't it the sweetest act from the couple? LOL :p

In Search of the Perfect Yellow Shoes

i have search high and low in almost all shoe stores here in Singapore but to no avail :( i have not, for the life of me, found the perfect not-so-bridal-yellow-shoes. darn!

i wanted to get one during this Great SG Sale period so I could avail of big discounts but aside from that i need to have one for my first gown fitting come September. *sigh*. i promise to get back on my feet and do the rounds again. i hope my target store has some new items "on sale".

look at the yellow shoes. prettiness, isn't it?
and of course, mario has to wear something yellow *wink*
this looks really fun!

Preparing for Marriage

true, that engaged couples should not only prepare for the wedding but the marriage itself. it will be a waste spending thousands or even millions then filing for annulment after a few months just because you both didn't give much importance to what's ahead of you as married couple.

for me, it is not only important but VERY important! i have clearly discussed with Mario in the beginning that while preparing for the wedding, we will also prepare for our marriage, emotionally and spiritually. we have been sharing thoughts on some serious issues about the married life and so far, we have consistent and similar answers. there are still some points that we differ, of course, but we have learned to compromise and talk seriously.

so while we are here together in Singapore, we both wanted to take every opportunity to improve our relationship thus we are planning to join a Marriage Preparation Course. this is such an exciting course because we will be sharing thoughts about marriage to some other couples, young and old. this will be a 6-session course done every Sunday at 9am. whooaaaa!

we have not submitted our application yet because we are waiting for his work schedule. once everything is final, off i go to singpost to mail our forms!

A Short Visit to Bernardo

last weekend, i had a very short/emergency vacation in Cebu. it was just over the weekend because i need to bring my little brother home since the sister did not push through with her trip to SG.

anyway, i never intended to use my time for any wedding preparations because i wanted to spend some time with my lola, who is in the hospital. but after much thinking, i realized i needed to meet Bernardo for my gown measurement because come September we will be home again for some serious preps. (yes, i have finally finally confirmed my gown design but i won't tell you which one para thrilling kunuhay haha.)

it was such a last minute decision but glad that Tisha was able to arrange it.

the short visit was successful! Bernardo got my measurement and we finalized the contract. we scheduled the first fitting this September and Moyo's measurement. we also scheduled our trial make up, just in time for our prenuptial photoshoot with Charles.

i can't wait!

Some Changes.

after much discussion and careful consideration of some important details, we have decided to hold the wedding ceremony early in the morning. we are thinking of 6AM!

Moyo and I are very much excited to wake up as early as 2AM for the preparation and so as our coordinator. she even confirmed the availability of all the suppliers (in their behalf) after i finalized with her that we are changing the time. i love her! *wink*

now, we are looking for another church because St. Joseph does not accept a 6AM wedding ceremony (actually, most church does not).

when i went home last weekend, my mother and i checked this church in mactan airbase. when i saw it, i got that "this is it!" feeling. it is something similar to the Archbishop's chapel (which is my dream church). it is small and very intimate. the surrounding itself is very quiet and looks peaceful (i bet it is, with all the military-uniformed men staying at the gate *grin*).

anyway, we are still waiting for some updates if the parish priest will allow. we are crossing our fingers and toes for its approval. please pray for us!

Wedding Gown Inspiration

i thought deciding for a gown design is as easy as deciding for the wedding date but i underestimated the internet :D yes, i have imagined what my wedding gown would look like but with so many pretty designs available in the internet, the decision as to which is which is really a daunting task. i could not count how many times i have drooled over a particular design and thought it was it. but really, until now i am indecisive *sigh*. so i am leaving the decision to my designer.

i've mentioned in my previous post that i have finalized the design but last month i found another pretty design and asked Tisha to inform Bernie. unfortunately, Bernie has been busy lately so the new sketch is not yet available. that leaves me to wait patiently then.

so for the meantime, i am sharing the designs i am "confusingly considering". i hope i could finalize my design and control myself from browsing the net. teehhheee!

the first design i like and 90% into it.

second design i like.
i love its sexiness and uniqueness.

and this design in the center is just soo pretty, i can't help it!
which means, i am convincing my designer to incorporate the ruffled sleeve to my first design.
i am still about to see the sketch yet.

Light and Easy

i am not a big fan of heavy-princess-tube-like wedding gowns and so as Mario. no offense to brides-to-be who want their gowns designed like that. but in my case, i want something that is light and easy. mind you, i have few memorable and embarrassing experiences of being clumsy while walking so i am making sure that it will not happen on my bridal march. but aside from that, i want to roam around during the reception, talking and entertaining our guests so a heavy dress in a beach is unimaginable for me :)

i am soo happy that my coordinator and designer is very patient with me. Bernie really got the design i wanted and even suggested few ideas to make it more suitable for me. sooo feminine, sooo light and sooo beachy :D i wanted that design to be final and done but, but as i am always browsing the net and blog hopping as well, i have the chance to lurk on some other designs which is really disturbing. from time to time, i have this feeling that i like this new design than what i originally wanted but then i have to remind myself to be focused so not to trouble my designer for always changing my mind. i already had three gown sketches before deciding "for the one" but just now, i found this really pretty design again. waaaaaahhhh! i just hope my designer could somehow incorporate the style to the previous design that i chose :) of course, its still light, easy and beachy :)

on the otherhand, Moyo's suit perfectly suit him as well. yes, he doesn't want to wear a barong because he is uncomfortable and he finds it itchy hehe. we found this pretty design and off white color suit from Mimi & Karl's wedding. our designer made the sketch and he liked it immediately. final, just like that. no second thoughts and no more design browsing for him.

how i wish i could decide like that. :)

Counting Days...

around this time, everyone in the Philippines is on vacation or at least on vacation mode. i am sooo jealous because by now, they are enjoying the one week holiday/ long weekend. of course, our suppliers are not exempted. i am pretty sure they are also having the time of their lives and really really making the most of the not so busy week to relax and enjoy. so for the meantime, no updates yet for our wedding preps. next week will be a busy one :D

so why the title? because because i am excited to announce that my hubby-to-be is finally coming to Singapore!!! weeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhh! the date is final and no turning back. this will be another adventure for both of us. so here's our plan...

his first week - apply, apply, apply and interview, interview, interview
his second week - relax and wait for his EP approval :D
this third week - start working and impress the boss
on the following weeks - save, save, save to increase our millions (hehe!) and to buy our new nicky :D
come December - get married and live happily ever after *biggest grin ever*

yes, i am very confident that he will get a job in a week's time :D (Law of Attraction on the go!)

see you soon MoyoJojo! hehehe =)

The Motiff

main color : canary/lemon yellow
- because this is my favorite color and soon to be Moyo's too :D

primary accent color : pewter/ash grey
- because this is not a common color paired to yellow. we wanted something kinda different.

secondary accent colors: bright blue (don't know the exact term) and white
- because the colors are beachy (like clear blue water and fine white sand *big grin*)

thanks to our dear friends, Jasmine, for creating this lay out for our multiply site and bontic for the codes :) luvs yah all! char!

Next on the List

so we're done booking our three major suppliers: coordinator, reception venue and church.
next on our list are the following: photographer, videographer and couturier.

i've made my research on different wedding photographers and videographers since last year but it was only this month that we've finally decided who to book. yes, it took us long enough to decide because our requirements and standard are high :D seriously, i think what made it difficult for us especially for me was the fact that i wanted to get mangored and jason magbanua but they are just soooo expensive. their rates would total the budget we have for the entire wedding. so, i have to cancel them. anyway, they are not free on our wedding date :D (nag inquire gyud ko in fairness!)

our videographer is DigitalMinds. i saw their website while i was browsing Jason Magbanua's site. there was this link posted in his site which listed all sites of good wedding videographers. of course, i inquired to all those based in Cebu and Digital Minds is one on the list. actually, i first heard about them from a friend who recommended them but did not take it seriously until i visited their website (see link in my homepage). i never expected that a local could create a video which is somehow at par with that of Jason's. immediately, we finalized the contract and paid for the deposit. we are so thankful that Joey, the owner, is kind enough to answer all my queries and created a package which is affordable and beyond what we even wanted. :)

one of the things that we've decided to splurge on is photography. aside from us being enthusiasts, we wanted our wedding pictures to last a lifetime. something that we would not regret spending much. our main requirement for our photographer is someone fun and edgy because we believe that it will reflect in the shots he will take. we both don't like the super cheesy and usual wedding pictures so we decided to get someone whose style is unique. cebu has a lot of good photographers both in wedding and fashion but only one person caught our fancy and that is charles buenconsejo, now based in Manila. he was not our first choice actually coz i found his site quite late. but when we were comparing his works from the rest, we've decided that his is way way better. :D lucky for us coz Tisha know him personally and the rest of the buenconsejos. they have worked together in so many weddings Tisha coordinated so i guess, it will not be difficult for us to negotiate :D
thank you Charles for being available on our day and for not charging out of town fees :D

i didn't have much worry about my wedding gown and Moyo's suit because even before Tisha recommended Bernardo Flores, we were already considering him. i did not stressed myself too much in finding a couturier because i found Bern's work really fabulous. before i personally met him last February, Tisha already spoke to him about my dream gown and sent me i think 2 sketches. yes, she spoke because she was not able to show him some pictures because i did not send any. i admit i am very lousy in searching for that perfect design. the only thing that i wanted for my gown is something flowy and beachy :D i actually found some designs but i was not sure if it would fit me but i sent it to Tisha anyway. after checking the pictures, she confirmed one design that would suit me best and the beachy theme and i totally agree, finally! she then asked Bernardo to make another sketch which was totally perfect. we visited him last February in his shop and we were already at ease. he gave us a rate that is really reasonable for the designs we wanted. :)

So how's the preparation?

my friends have been asking the status of our wedding preparations. all i can say is, "so far, so good". how can i procastinate for my Big day? No Way!

as early as last year, we have been doing our research. from details, themes, suppliers, motiff and other stuffs. i can honestly admit that i am an OC person. i want every detail to be taken cared of, thus the early preparation, 1 year plus to say the least :D

so we started the formal preps last January. first and foremost, we discussed if we should book a coordinator or do it ourselves. the superwoman in me was telling me that i can do it :D but my work did not cooperate :( and i know Moyo has no talent in all the details, its just soo not him even if he insists that he can do it. i just can't trust him on stuffs like these (sorry bebs!). after a serious discussion, we've decided to get one :) according to Moyo, para daw no stress for me but i think he was thinking of no stress for him :D (he just know how much pressure i will be putting on him especially that he is still in Cebu). i have to thank Jhoe, my roomie, for recommending our pretty coordinator, Tisha. i know i can totally trust her knowing she's a good friend of Jhoe's. so far, we have no regrets!

since i am a beach-freak and Moyo is on the average, there's no discussing where the reception should be. the problem was in which resort? i want it in Shangrila (libre btaw mangarap) but of course that would be too much on Moyo's pocket :) so we opted for plan B, which is Maribago Bluewaters. period! so last January, we made our reservation and paid the deposit last February.

next on the list would be the church. my mother requested to hold it in Fatima Parish in Basak , Mandaue but we were thinking it would be too far from Mactan. i have to convinced her that distance really matters, good thing she agreed or maybe was forced :) anyway, Tisha, recommended St. Joseph's Parish (now National Shrine of St. Joseph) in Guizo, Mandaue City. at first, i was kinda hesitant because she told me that the altar is pretty but the aisle is looonnnggg, which is a no no for me :( i even told Moyo, a chapel would suffice but of course it would be too small and my dream chapel, which is Archbishop's Chapel, is way too far from Mactan. to give me peace of mind, Moyo checked some churches in mactan but sad to say, all of them seems so strict with the requirements which might be difficult for us since we are overseas. so we finally decided to book St. Joseph instead but told Tisha, I want to check it come February because the last time i was there was like 5 years ago. good thing, Tisha is also OC. she reserved the church ahead and paid for the deposit first. when i finally saw it, i was in love with the altar but sad with the aisle. it was really looonnnggg :( but i think i can manage...i just hope i won't trip somewhere. all in all, the church is lovely, intimate and vintage :D Moyo and I agreed that we are getting married on that church. teeehhheee!

The Pamalay

last December 2008 was my first vacation after being away from home for a year. Moyo and I decided to announce our engagement and planned wedding officially to the whole family. but since it was also my sister's wedding that month, we scheduled it a week after so to give time for my parents to at least breathe :D

then it happened last December 24, lunchtime. it was supposedly scheduled a day before but his father had a problem booking a ticket to Cebu. but nonetheless, "the pamalay" finally happened.

it was a day full of blessing for us both. though we didn't exactly know what to do and say, we still made it through. it was heartwarming to see both our parents and relatives discussing our union. we're both happy it turned out really well and smooth. no objections from both sides except for his mother's request to check the moon on our planned date. good thing it turned out to be a full moon on December 30...whew! or else, it would result to a long discussion.

what made it really memorable was the fact that both our parents wanted the wedding to happen on an earlier date. not only that, they wanted us to have a civil wedding too before December. we're not so sold out with the idea but we ended up not arguing at all. so what happened next was we went to the Municipal hall to file our marriage license..hahaha! (this is for our compliance of the appearance requirement since I will be back in Singapore). we went home literally shocked why we did that. we were both asking ourselves if we really want a civil wedding. (answer to this question will be in my next post :D )

Will You Marry Me?

yes, i will!

the not-so-serious proposal happened last October 10, 2008.
he came to Singapore to pay me a one week visit. it was our first time together as lovers part 2 after one year of living separate lives.

it was such a surprise for me when he popped up that question. though we had some discussions about wedding before he came, i never thought he was that serious. apparently he was but i can say, he was not prepared at all. he didn't have a ring. he didn't even plan a dinner or what. we were just roaming around chinese garden then rested in the pagoda area for sometime. while taking pictures and making fun of each other, he suddenly kneeled down and proposed. i was laughing my heart out watching his act. i did not take him seriously. i just jokingly answered him "yes" and asked him to stand up. i asked where's the ring and he told me he will make another proposal. bantay bitaw! was all i can muster.

but yes he did propose again and this time with the ring :D the surprise happened last February 24, 2009, when i was at home for a supposedly vacation but glued in my pc for some work to finished. he appeared in our doorstep with something. he was hiding it in his back and trying his best so i won't see it. i asked him what is it but didn't say anything. i acted irritated so he gave in. he showed me this cute little box wrapped in a gold tin foil with a red ribbon and a small blank card. (that's how lousy he is!) but i can't hide my excitement coz in my mind, it could be the ring he promised. i opened it without giving him the chance to open it for me. my eyes twinkled when i saw the white gold diamond ring and immediately wore it. ana ka excited! he complained because he wanted to personally wear the ring on my finger. so i removed it and asked him to do it. naay take two! hehe :D

but i'm not complaining because it was indeed sweet *wink*. i was literally surprise and was smiling like a kilig schoolgirl :D

so now, we are officially engaged!

The BIG Day!

oh yeah, we are tying the knot!

it was not even serious at first. we were just discussing it out of boredom i think. we were sharing our dream wedding to each other when we are not yet even lovers part 2 and yes, we both have thought of the details too. funny!

so there, we already have a date! tantadannnn...it will be on December 30, 2009! this of course with our parents' blessings last December 24, 2008 ( story will be in another post). i know, we still have a long way to go and many events will surely take place in the months to come. but there's no turning back. this is it, this is really is it!

why the date?because September 30 is too near, which is our anniversary and i personally don't want to feel all panicky with the preparation. the date is also in time of our annual vacation so our expected guests could attend.in short, i want a year preparation for our big day *grin*. honestly, i insisted on the September 30 date but was convinced by Moyo that December is better.

i am happy and he is happy!we both can't wait. 9 months to go!weeeeeeee :)

Yes, the Blog!

finally, i made up my mind!

it is in this little space that i will document our new life together. i will still have my own private nook, where i can write anything about what's inside my complicated mind but i think its also best to have a little place for us in cyberspace. teeheee!

so this is the launching of our online journal. but i have a feeling that i will be visiting this too often than him.

enough said. i think a short introduction will suffice. :D
